Lyrics:
It’s time to grow
into something new
Composed by Alex Freundlich on March 4, 2020
This instance of “Time To Grow,” recorded on April 15, 2022, and its supporting materials were produced for Ten Whistlegraphs.
“Time To Grow” was the first whistlegraph scored for multiple players, rendered here in Hagoromo chalk on blackboard by Alex Freundlich and Camille Klein. The graphic score highlights its stochastic ending: “use these lyrics to complete your drawing.”
Whistlegraphs are audio-visual digital artworks performed manually by drawing and singing. Every whistlegraph results in a poetic image through the performance of a graphic score.
