Travess Smalley is a digital artist and educator who works with computational software to create complex and unique generative systems in various forms — including computer graphics, digital images, prints, software, games, and books. By extending his generative process and scripts using digital printing, scanning, and creative software, Smalley incorporates alternative processing methods to produce unimaginable, emergent images. He is an Assistant Professor of Print Media at the University of Rhode Island, and a Critic at the Rhode Island School of Design. He released *Coordinates* and EmojiScript with Folia.app in 2023 and 2021, respectively, and continues his ongoing Pixel Rugs project on the Tezos blockchain. Smalley’s artwork has been featured in Artnews, 4Columns, Forbes, Outland, Rhizome, and more. Smalley has exhibited globally in both physical and digital spaces, with recent solo exhibitions through Foxy Production in New York, and on a Minecraft server hosted by Ender Gallery and MacKenzie Art Gallery in Regina, SK, Canada.
