About Aorist

Aorist was a digital art platform that released work by Refik Anadol, Andrés Reisinger, Quayola, Joanie Lemercier, Nancy Baker Cahill, Auriea Harvey and others on the Algorand blockchain in 2021 and 2022, then stopped operating. In 2024 Feral File built a bridge from Algorand to Ethereum for Aorist's collectors, migrated the works, and took custody of the collection. The works are shown here as they were released: one entry per Aorist release, with its artist, its mint date and its Ethereum contract.

What a stewarded collection is

A stewarded collection is work Feral File stewards for an initiative that no longer operates. It is not a Feral File exhibition: nobody at Feral File curated it, and the pages make no claim of authorship. The record stays readable, the works stay viewable, and the collectors keep a place where their holdings can be seen. Each release is listed as it was released, and each work carries the Ethereum contract the collection was migrated to and the artist's own description where the token metadata preserved one.

The record

The inventory comes from Aorist's own database, recovered by Feral File: 25 releases, 2,342 editions and 77 distinct works across 15 artists. The original media host is gone. The files shown here are the copies pinned to IPFS during the 2024 migration and served from Feral File's gateway; works whose files are still being restored are listed without a player.

Jonas Lund's Most Valuable Painting, released through Aorist in 2022, was completed as a Feral File exhibition in 2026 and has its own pages.

70 works by 13 artists across 22 releases, 1,573 editions, listed as stewarded collections.
