Alice Scope
Originally from Ukraine, Alice Scope is a curator and educator based in Los Angeles who is interested in topics of potential future adaptations, bodies on the internet, blockchain, and postgenderism. In 2016, she founded the first Experimental Art Center AkT in Kyiv, Ukraine, to provide a supportive space for young Ukrainian artists. It was also the first center in Ukraine to showcase art in virtual reality for a broad audience. Operations at the center were interrupted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Currently, Alice Scope is a curator at Vellum LA, a women-led NFT gallery for digital art, where she has worked with artists like the award-winning experiential artist duo Operator; trailblazing Afro-Caribbean artist IX Shells, the highest-selling female artist in NFTs; and Keiken, an international art collective that creates speculative worlds through gaming, XR, blockchain and performance, and more.
